Admissions

The Linguistics Department of The University of Connecticut has emphases on theoretical linguistics and first language acquisition. Because some potential applicants are interested in applied linguistics, we point out that the department does not offer degrees in Applied Linguistics or Teaching English as a Second Language. If your research interests are in these areas, you might wish to apply for a degree program in our School of Education.
